Titans set to carry on from where they left off the previous match by going full force right from the first whistle. With Miao Ling showing her slick stick work whenever she was in front of the goal, it was no wonder that 5 out of the 12 goals were scored by her. Some of her highlights: Deft backhand shot into near post after making opponents looked like they were moving cones and quick rebound after a nice long lob from Cally.

Shumin who was spotted with even fiery and over the top hairdo this week was also set to leave her opponents in the dust. She assisted a total of 5 goals and got herself the point leader position for now.

Moment of the match: Mimi's brilliant catch when opponent fired at right top corner of the goal.
With confidence and in slow motion, she pulled the ball towards her before doing a throw out. The bench just erupted in awe and excitement upon witnessing such wonderful save.

Well done to Bin and Mimi! Its clean sheet again!

Match report thus far...

After a slow start in their first game, the ladies came out with all cylinders firing and were ready to prove their worth. The first minute of the game saw a quick pass from Smelly Bombelly to Su = Sexy who then proceeded to fire a quick shot towards the goal and into the net.

The young opponents did not back down easily. With their speed and fitness, some speedy gonzales tried to bulldoze their way into the dangerous zone. This caught the defence by surprise but with Ms Invisible Wallie Mimi in the goal, everything else denied and clean sheet was still on the way. Second goal came pretty late into the first period. However, it was an awesome wrap by Su who was on her way to go Turkey in this game. Mao Mao Ling did not want to lose out and scored a goal ala whack-through-sarong-style shortly after.

The period ended with 3-0 in favour of the team.

The second period started with high intensity as the ladies were thirsty for more goals. Hat trick lady was in the house when a goal by Su came about 4 minutes into the period. A minute later, Mao Mao Ling found the back of the net after receiving a pass during corner free hit from Shumin who was spotted with her new funky hairdo. After that, the ladies were just craving for more goals. Just a minute after, Emily got her well deserved goal after firing relentlessly whenever she was in the slot area.

The team continued to extend their lead with good distribution of the ball from the back and intelligent running by the forwards. Shumin finally scored her maiden goal of the season with some deft touches, putting a backhand top corner goal after receiving a pass from Ruyi. The period ended with Wynne putting an easy tap in from close range after receiving a pass from the-top-assist-of-the-day-Smelly to bring the score to 8 - 0.

The third period was pretty much the same affair but with objectives of keeping clean sheet and 5 more goals kept in mind. The team controlled the game from the face-off and it took them 4 minutes to break opponents' defence when Shumin turned the ball into the back of the net after receiving a cross court pass from Ruyi. The Singapore Schools Girls did not back down easily but instead continued to run their hearts out in the final period. However, with wave after wave of attack crashing against Singapore Schools' goal, the goals continued to come in favour of Titans with Ruyi and Emily both scoring a total of 5 goals, ending the match with 15 - 0 in favour of Titans.

Yay!! Titans would be going on a team-bonding trip! It was planned for either KL or Genting Highlands, but it seems like majority so far would rather go to Genting. NOT for gambling!!!! Our team bonding activities would probably be things like KTV-ing, shopping, theme park-eating, etc, etc, etc... :) It's going to be SUPER fun!! :)

This trip is for Titans to bond and to get to know each other better. It would be a good chance especially for the newer players to get to know the senior players better. It's a better opportunity as compared to the efforts that Banana makes during training, ie to make us pair up with someone we're not so familiar with to do passing. haha... how to get to know each other better then? we are standing so far apart from each other to make conversation! :p

To cater to the many many teachers AND students in the team, the trip would be held during the march school holidays, 20-22march09. We should be leaving on friday morning and coming back on sunday evening.

To those who have yet to reply to the email on your attendance for the trip, please do so ASAP!!so that our trip coordinator Shu would be able to get the tickets and hotel. Thank you so much Shu! :)

Proper training will resume on 5th July, 4.00pm - 6.30pm at NUS Sports Hall.

Also, from 10th July, and every following Thursdays, we will have fun games and physical training at NUS. Please meet outside the NUS sports hall at 7.45pm. We should finish by 9.30pm. Please bring running shoes.

As Jurong West Sports Hall is not available on 15th March, there has been some changes to the match schedules. Affected games will be played at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) on 15th and 16th March. Please refer to the schedules below.

These games will be played on the 15 March 2008, Saturday at the following time at NTU:

Match Secretary Course

The next match secretary course will be held on Sunday, 6th of January 2008 from 11am to 3pm at Valhall. A course fee of $20 will be collected upon registration. Each team is to send at least two representatives to attend the course if you do not already have a qualified match secretary to officiate your game.

A test will be conducted right after the course. Participants who passed the test will be given a match secretary license. A qualified match secretary is needed to officiate each of your team's game in the coming SFL Division 1 League.

With a couple more days to the New Year, Titans are gearing up for the upcoming Singapore Floorball League 2008 as it draws closer. Here are the tentative playing dates for the league season (first game at 10am and last game at 8pm):

1. 12 and 13 Jan (Start of Men’s League)

2. 19 and 20 Jan

3. 26 and 27 Jan (Start of Ladies’ League)

4. 2 and 3 Feb

9 and 10 Feb (Chinese New Year Break)

5. 16 and 17 Feb

6. 23 and 24 Feb

7. 1 and 2 Mar

8. 8 and 9 Mar

9. 15 and 16 Mar

22 and 23 Mar (Good Friday Break)

10. 29 and 30 Mar

11. 5 and 6 April (End of Men’s and Ladies’ League)

12. 12 and 13 April (Back-Up date)

As Tampines Sports Hall will be closed for renovations, SFA is currently looking for other venues and they’ve listed Jurong West, ITE Simei and RP as the 3 other options.
